Printing for Pop-Up Shops

Pop-Up Shop Signage and Event Graphics

With so many people attending Dreamforce San Francisco (over 171,000 last year), many smaller companies took the opportunity to build pop-up shops in the surrounding area. Pop-Up shops are a way for brands to reach consumers on the ground without having to commit to a brick and mortar. Often set up in fully functional retail spaces, all that’s left to bring are the products, retail workers, and printed branding materials.

Dynamite Digital handles the last part of that of that equation. Large format printing allows businesses to turn an empty shell into a fully branded retail space in a matter of hours and is easy to take down too. Let’s have a quick look at how the process works.

Below, you can see the empty space, ready to be transformed and put to use. There is plenty of good lighting, clean surfaces, and a fair amount of room. Printed graphics are best installed on clean flat surfaces with minimal texture. When deciding what materials to print your graphics on, always consider what type of surface they will be installed over. This type of modern space provides the perfect canvas for any kind of printed graphic designs, especially adhesive vinyl.

Design phase

Below, we get a good look at how the designer breaks down the retail space and plans out the graphics. This is a great example because of everything is exactly to scale according to the measurements of the room (measurement are extremely important for large format printing) and the colors are all exact. Once the design is all squared away, the graphics are saved as vector files and we can begin printing.

The final step before the pop-up can begin is the graphics installation. For seamless graphics that will stay on the wall, it is important to hire a professional graphics installer. Below, see the aftermath of everyone’s work, from the designer to the installer.

Everything seen here is printed on adhesive vinyl, then laminated for protection against scuffing and easy installation. Even those 100 metal cans were wrapped in vinyl!

Brainrider’s pop-up lasted the full duration of Dreamforce 2017, and they were thrilled with the results. To request a free quote from Dynamite Digital, click here. Thank you for your interest.
